STOCKHOLM | Wednesday 20th Oct 18.00–20.00 Free!

ANTHOLOGY RELEASE – Stockholm Writers Group (SWG) presents: Raft of Leaves – on Aging, Death and Foreignness.

One thing the pandemic has taught us is the importance of community, especially for people living far from their birthplaces.

Raft of Leaves may be just what we – survivors of the pandemic – need to read now. Not pandemic literature per se, this anthology features previously unpublished work by Marti Parker, a founding member of SWG, and work by fourteen other writers.

In memory of Marti Parker.

Free event – welcome! Snacks & refreshments.

Signed anniversary copy of ”The Song of Achilles”

You could get a signed copy of ”The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller!

We don’t quite know how this happened, but we managed to get our hands on four(!) copies of the exclusive signed 10th anniversary edition of The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.

These were sold out in the UK almost two months ago, but somehow we now have four of them.

We know many, many of you would like to buy these and they are real collector’s items of a hugely and deservedly popular book so we thought we’d do something special with them.

The price for one of these beauties is 750:- (SEK) and if you sign up on the form on the link below before midnight on Sunday 3 October (Swedish time), you will be in the raffle of who gets to buy them. Postage costs will be added. We can send it within the EU.

So – would you like to buy one of our four treasures? Sign up below and on Monday we’ll draw the four lucky buyers and let you know. Good luck!

** UPDATE: These lucky names were drawn in the draw (they have been notified):

The New Nomads – Event with Felix Marquardt

The New Nomads – author event with Felix Marquardt

STOCKHOLM | Friday 27th August at 17:30. Free!

We’re excited to welcome Felix Marquardt to the Stockholm shop on Friday 27th August for a book presentation and signing! Outdoor event in the backyard behind the bookshop (Rain? The event moves inside, limited seating inside – pandemic precautions in place.)

Welcome to listen to him presenting his new book The New Nomads – How the Migration Revolution is Making the World a Better Place.

In conversation with Therese Larsson Hultin, SvD Foreign Affairs Analyst.

What if migrants, rather than the point of contention they have become, were the key to bridging the divide of our polarized politics?

In our collective consciousness, the term ‘migration’ conjures up images of hordes of refugees fleeing ‘their’ country, escaping on rafts and coming to invade ‘ours’. And immigration is viewed as a problem to be solved.

We’ve got it all wrong.
